My cellphone collection from old to new!

My cellphone collection from old to new!

Technology is growing so fast you have to keep up with the latest trends. Today as cleaning my room cupboards I found my old sony ericsson phone. I remember I kept it because It was my first colour screen phone. My phone was a sony ericsson t610. The features it had was java, internet and the camera. The camera was crap but not back then. The phone didn’t have operating systems like android or windows 8 like we have in today’s phones. The phone was pretty basic for a latest phone at the time. I took a photo of all the phones I had, as you can see in the picture above you.

I couldn’t find all my phones that I had but if I can remember correctly, all the phones I had was first a nokia 3410, second my sony ericsson t610, third a Motorola L7, fourth was a samsung can’t remember the model, fifth is a sony ericsson s312 and lastly my blackberry curve 8520.

The cap between my first and latest phone is about nine or ten years now. I can’t even imagine what cellphone’s will be like in about ten years from now. Now days we got ipads, blackberry playbooks and android tablets which is the latest and best of the portable technology. Before cellphone was for calling people but no one does that much these days, because of instant messengers. My next phone most likely will be between the samsung galaxy S3 or the nokia lumia.

The rise of the nerd in you

The rise of the nerd in you

Nerds? Why do people associate that as being uncool. Maybe it’s an american stereotype, I don’t know. Frankly I find nerds to be cool and rather interesting. I wish I was a nerd. Nerds are smart, brilliant, intellectual, tech savy, intelligent. Who wouldn’t want to be all that. If nerds was so uncool why is it that there is such a popular tv show like the big bang theory. Why? Because people can relate. Perhaps secretly people are nerds and maybe they hide they inner nerd to avoid social ridicule.

Here in south africa being a nerd isn’t much of an issue like in america. In south africa if you are a nerd! you will be everyone’s go to guy ,but sadly you will get used and abused for your skills. Because everyone wants to save and avoid spending money, for example a pretty girl next door doesn’t want to spend money to repair her computer, so she decides I’ll just use the nerd next door to do it for free.

I don’t buy the nerd stereotype. If being smart is a crime! Arrest me. Maybe nerds need to work on their physical appearance when it comes to clothes and glasses they wear! In my own way I’m nerdy and love comic books, comic book movies, technology and gadgets without the nerdy appearance. There’s nothing wrong with having an inner nerd, just know how you use it. I’ve seen lots of nerdy guys dating models and beautiful girls. If anything the radical of the nerds is over.

It is an new era where nerds rule. Now days having the latest technology and gadgets is such a trend and without even knowing it people have become nerdy. Think about it? besides having technology and gadgets notice how people are socialising like nerds on social networks ,instant messengers, chatroom’s and being antisocial. So don’t you notice the change in you or are you afraid to say it out loud! I am nerdy.

#So better believe it you are living in the era of the nerds.

Night of darkness, my technological apocalypse

Night of darkness, my technological apocalypse

Thank god for a new day because last night I had the worst night ever. I dunno know why ,but for some reason the electricity to our area had been shut off. Now imagine having no power from mid day to the entire night. Now without any power my cellphone was my only form of entertainment and once my battery died, it was like living in a technological apocalypse.

The worse thing for me last night was I could not make any food hot. Unlike america having gas stoves would of benefited us if there’s no power, but here in south africa almost everything is electricity based. Thankfully i had an old one plate kind of gas stove which used paraffin to work. If not for that paraffin stove I would be staving that night.

Now after eating it was so boring with nothing to do with no electricity, can’t watch tv or listen to music ,and not to mention missing my favourite tv shows. I was so pissed and frustrated. The upside was the neighbours came out and socialised with other neighbours. The socialising was great because in that moment we have abandoned our need for technology. Last night just proves that we can still have a good time without technology. In the past we did without cellphones, ipads, tablets etc. So I’m sure we can abandon technology every now and then to live life and be practical, instead of being a walking talking zombie of technology.

#The lesson here to be learnt is we should appreciate life.
